In Episode 14, the Sci-Fi Super Friends are joined by special guests, Jeremy and Shane from the Nerds and Beer podcast for the review of 1984’s sci-fi/adventure/thriller Dreamscape. In this film, Dennis Quaid starred as the young psychic, Alex Gardner, who escaped government testing to lead a life of gambling and womanizing. Dr. Paul Novotny, played by Max von Sydow, recruited the reluctant Gardner to join a government funded psychic research project on the entering of others’ dreams. However, Bob Blaire, played by Christopher Plummer, was also on the project and secretly plotted to use psychotic psychic Tommy Ray Glatman to murder the U.S. President who suffered terrible, apocalyptic nightmares. Will Gardner use his powers for good or just use them for episodes of dream sex? Is David Patrick Kelly a convincing villain or is there something real about the three-name-rule? Are we all just a figment of Dennis Quaid’s imagination? Tune in and learn the truth!
